Child welfare has been so generally ignored over the years that I guess I subconsciously thought this wouldn’t reach ACF, but here it is, and it is vague as hell. Legal advice I’ve read heretofore is to ensure your HR policies clearly say your agency does not discriminate in hiring or promotion. hashtag#Notalawyer but this reads like anti-bias training (you know, the training that teaches you to not discriminate) is also out the window.
I guess we should be glad that a program particularly designed for children in lower-income families wasn’t scrapped altogether. Hat tip to Jane F. Golden for sharing this.
